No they do not invert several weeks postpartum. I would immediately refer to
a breast specialist/surgeon for evaluation of possible inflammatory breast
cancer. You are on the right track, and if you can contact the mother, I
suggest you followup to see if she's sought diagnosis, and if not, urge her
to do so.
