Hello.

Was wondering how the LCs in private practice handle situations where moms want to buy a kit from them to use for a borrowed pump.

Medela makes it clear that they do not recommend this and won't sell to someone directly who tells them they are borrowing, but they allow private retailers to decide for themselves.

We considered having them sign a waiver that they read the Medela sheet re: borrowed pumps but I wonder if that would in a sense "prove" we knew their intent and work against us.

What is your policy on this?

Thanks! Carolyn Schindewolf, BS, LCCE, IBCLC
