Marsha's post on this was excellent. The meetings over food are not a
casual decision. Guess what - when you eat, oxytocin is released in
your brain, enhancing feelings of well-being and - you guessed it -
TRUST for the person who you are with. Why do you think just abotu
every culture on earth has a tradition of eating together to welcome
newcomers. Then we all trust each other! And, I guess it wouldn't go
as well to have the "education" session in a sterile lecture room with
oxytocin nasal pumps on each table...
Maybe you could make a handout that said
Oxytocin - the hormone of trust and bonding. Get it free by nursing
your baby! Or, if you're pinched for time, just have lunch with a
formula rep.
