We are pleased to notify you of the opportunity to submit an application to 
the Pennsylvania Department of Health to provide statewide breastfeeding 
promotion education for physician office staff.

The Department is interested in funding applications designed to achieve 
changes in public breastfeeding knowledge and attitudes; institutional 
change; and increases in breastfeeding initiation and duration rates.

The Department is funding one application using Federal Maternal and Child 
Health Services Block Grant funds.

You can review the Request for Applications (RFA), at www.dgs.state.pa.us 
by accessing the information in the following way:



·                     Click on "Procurement" on the top right bar of the 
Department of General Services' Web site.

·                     Under "Suppliers, How Do I?", in the left column, 
click on "Search for Bid opportunities issued by various agencies"

·                     On the screen titled "Search Solicitations", in the 
"Solicitation #" box, type in 06-07-08 and click on Search

·                     Scroll down to the bottom of the page and open the 
Breastfeeding Promotion Education RFA





A pre-application conference will be held on September 13, 2007 at 10:00 am 
in Bid Room #5NI, Keystone Building, 400 North Street, Harrisburg, PA. 
Applicant attendance is optional. All questions regarding this RFA should be 
directed in writing to Martha Kautz, Breastfeeding Awareness and Support 
Program Administrator, Bureau of Family Health, Division of Community 
Systems Development and Outreach, Pennsylvania Department of Health, 7th 
Floor East, Health and Welfare Building, 7th and Forster Street, Harrisburg, 
Pennsylvania 17120 or by e-mail at [log in to unmask], no later than August 
30, 2007. All questions should include the specific section of the RFA about 
which the potential applicant is questioning. Answers to all questions will 
be posted at www.dgs.state.ps.us.



Your application must arrive in the designated room at the following address 
no later than 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2007.
