I have permission from the mom to post.
I am working with a mom of a one month old male infant who was diagnosed
with Torticollis at birth. Mom was told breastfeeding was not possible,
so she has been pumping milk for him since birth. I had not ever heard
of this condition before, so I did a bit of research this afternoon and
realized that breastfeeding IS possible. This woman lives in Huntington
Beach, CA. Is there a IBCLC in this area that has experience with this
condition? Mom would like to breastfeed if possible. Initially the
call was to deal with a decrease in milk supply, but I think that
getting this baby back on to the breast might be the best answer. It
seems mom is highly motivated.
