Rather than debating the pros and cons of NIP and benefits of breast vs
formula, I wish people would just say, if you are uncomfortable, DON'T LOOK!
Nobody says you have to stand and watch a mom nurse a baby! Quick glance,
oops I don't like to see that, look elsewhere. I lament the fact that
common sense is in such short supply in the world.
JCAHO (in US-big deal that accredits hospitals) has a new reg. The ped must
SIGN the standing orders or give a verbal order before the baby can get eye
drops, Vit K or be fed! Now what idiot thought that one up? What is
happening to the "golden first hour"? Anyone have an idea how we can let
them know that a baby needs to be breastfed whenever ready, even the middle
of the night, even if the ped is asleep?
Grumpy in SNJ, can't sleep. going back to bed now, Pat
