Hi, I am going to be taking the course and exam for the CLC in a few weeks...I will also be working towards my IBCLC as I have been since I began working for WIC. I know it's not the same, and I plan on using the CLC behind my name. Will this be an issue? I know that the CLC stands for Certified Lactation "Counselor", and the IBCLC is IBCL "Consultant" there is a difference-I am clear on this. I know several WIC staff that will be earning their CLCs at the same time I am. Is this a mistake? I thought it was a stepping stone to the IBCLC, I could be wrong. Have a blessed day,Merideth M.
