Thank you, Kerry. You have captured one of the main ideas behind my 'one
IBCLC for each childbearing woman' proposal.
I fear many here have been shaken up by my words and feel somewhat
threatened. But, I think it's a classic 'can't see the forest for the trees'
situation. Instead of looking at the FACTS and FIGURES and seeing the truth
that lies therein, human nature dictates that we jump to defend our own
position.
I'm not and never have negated the importance of ANYONE who works with
mothers and babies. All am I doing is stating the obvious: Something more
must be done.
