Because galactose is a part of the lactose molecule, I don't think lactaid
type drops would help, because there would still be galactose to metabolize,
which the galactosemic infant cannot.
However, I have heard/read of some babies taking breastmilk in restricted
quantities and with close monitoring, of course. Perhaps the hind milk could
be harvested, is it much lower in lactose? Not sure if this could be tested
and used for the baby.
