I had an amusing story this morning. I was an an OB department meeting and
on of the OBs asked about "the new policy that the hospital has no
pacifiers". Actually there is no such policy. What we decided is that
pacifiers would be available if mothers insisted (do't want to make too many
enemies here) but that we would edcuate the mothers about the risks (nipple
confusion, inadequte milk supply for mom etc) prior to giving them out.  The
hospital ran out of them for one week ( I had nothing to do with this) so the
sumor is that I throew them all out (I may have wanted to but I really
didn't. I said If I would throw something out the ABM would go first...
