Sounds like things are well on their way with the last remaining problem
being that forceful letdown. Easy fix for that one. :-) Since mom has
worked with positioning and that hasn't helped enough try this: Mom knows
when her let-down is kicking in right? When she feels it - take the baby
OFF the breast immediately! Let the flow settle down then put him back on.
When she feels let down #2 - watch the baby. If the breast is less full the
strength of the flow may be reduced and baby may be able to handle it fine.
If not, then take baby off for first 2 letdowns and see if he can handle the
third.
I have worked with MANY moms in this situation - myself included. :-)
This technique works well for many - not for all - bnut for many. :-)
Let us know how it goes!
Warmly,
Jaye
