Royce - This is just to share and let you know that you have company. Last
year, I recertified by exam at the seasoned age of almost 67 and I wondered
if I would do it again when I was almost 77. I may because I love this
work; in fact, I love it so much that it does not seem like work but a joy.
If I am physically and mentally able to continue, I can't think of any
reason why I should not. I also love the challenge of a good puzzle
(jigsaw, crossword, numbers) and being an IBCLC is trying to figure out the
puzzles we are given and resolve them. Talk to me when I am close to 77; I
hope I will feel young enough to keep going. :-)
Also, as I get older, I do not sweat the exam as much; last year was the
third time ('85, '96, '06) I took it and I hardly studied. The time before
that, I was part of the experiment in which I took the pathway that told us
not to study. Both times I passed; it does get easier. Keep up the
important work; we need your years of experience and knowledge.
Warm regards,
Lee
