Do you know what country the women were in? I know that Nature's Way,
including a breastfeeding formula and a fenugreek blend, was on the
list of products recalled in the massive Pan Pharmaceuticals recall
in Australia/NZ in 2003. The company was found to be engaging in
quality control fraud.

One possible recommendation for women who have access to Asian
supermarkets or spice stores is that they get real fenugreek seeds,
and grind their own powder or steep their own tea. At least then they
know what they're taking. It's also much, much less expensive.
