I've been enjoying this thread, and it is true that for many first time parents this approach seems new since "cereal" has been so accepted for decades!
I grew up in the Caribbean (Trinidad and Tobago to be exact), and nowadays even there, the "norm" tends to be "cereal".
So, though it seems that we have quite the task ahead of us, the anecdotal, and scientific evidence will ultimately prevail, good thing our group is filled to the brim with people who, like me, love a challenge!
