Any changes in the breast, especially in post menopausal women should be checked out by a knowledgable, respectful MD (not one that tends to "blowoff" a woman's concern until she is either very ill or very assertive).. Breast cancer isk for any woman throughout her life span is 1 in 7 to 1 in 8. Risk is higher the older one gets. Since there are many "versions" of breast cancer and they can manifest in more ways than just lumps. Post menopausal Br Ca has pretty good survival rates (compared to pre-menopausal) especially when caught early. Yearly mammos can be very effective in catching it, but sometimes it can come up faster. In my case I went from a negative Mammo to a grape size tumor in 6 months! (Fortunately lymph nodes were negative and I'm a 12 year survivor so far.)

In addition to having an MD check her out, has she changed anything that can touch her skin? Laundry soap or softener? Bath soap? Lotions? Some fabric she hasn't worn before? etc. Has anything happened to that breast or arm that might have led to pressure on a nerve?
Has she changed bra styles that might fit differently, especially if that breast is a little larger?

Winnie
