Betsy, I can say this maybe more easily than some because I am many
thousands of miles away and not an IBCLC, but that to me is a
provocative statement.
Maybe you don't intend it as disrespectful to your IBCLC colleagues,
but this is how it reads to me as an outsider.
I thought the argument about formula makers' 'gifts' and sponsorship
was won decades ago (the WHO code was issued in 1981) but clearly the
debate about propriety goes on in some areas. It's better - isn't it?
- that if the debate has to continue, that it is conducted in a way
that does not dismiss genuine concerns about formula sponsorship
with a jolly 'who cares?' .
And by the way, I care!
