Gastric bypass while lactating is a concern to me not only because mother's dramatic weight loss might very well have detrimental affects on the milk supply, but because of the enormous amount of toxins she will be dumping into her child. Breastfed children are at the very top of the food chain and will ingest the world's toxins stored within mother's fat. Environmental toxins are creating all sorts of havoc on our health. I would want to make her aware of this, although of course without recommendation to offer artificial human milk, but for simple awareness.

  Respectfully, Penny Lane
