Can she possibly get a neurologist to look at this child? The symptoms 
sound like there could be an autonomic dysfunction. This can be genetic 
or caused by an Arnold-Chiari malformation (forcing of the brainstem 
down into the spinal canal). Are speech and feeding the only delays? 
Poor mom, she must be at her wits end, working as hard as she can to 
keep her child nourished, and having the "professionals" berate her as 
if her compensations were the cause of the problem.
