Many MOT/MOM have told me they also prefer the Lact-Aid to SNS, so I wouldn't rule it out as many find they only need to supplement one of multiples or find it too difficult to use or monitor two at breast, anyway. (I have had a few reports of the tubing clogging more with it -- generally related to using it with artificial formula and of the powdered variety, which is a budget-related item for them.) Also, because these mothers have less time to "mess" with interventions, getting "stuck" on these kinds of systems, even when no longer needed, can be an issue -- and, of course, for some it can be an intervention that pushes them over the edge to weaning from the breast so caution. (It was MOT/MOM who taught me that BF and bottle-feeding don't have to mutually exclusive...)

Although not really related to responding to post referring to MOT/MOM, I'd also like to add in the discussion (or repeat because I know it's been said before) that we all tend to have biases re: alternative feeding devices. So far we really don't have the research evidence to "promote" one alternative feeding device over another. All include risks, all have benefits. The one that works best is the one that "fits" the particular mother's reality at the time and allows her to keep working toward the long-term BF goal.
