Hi everyone,
I met a woman last evening at our feeding your baby prenatal class who has
been an insulin dependant diabetic since childhood and due to have her first
baby in March. She is well controlled with an insulin pump and has the full
support and encouragement of her doctor to breastfeed. I am looking for some
resources and information to give her about what to expect and I am looking
for some tips to make her experience as successful as possible. Some
resources suggest expressing colostrum prenatally to prevent formula from
being given. Is this something that is commonly done?
This one is a first for me so all advise is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
