I was born in 1961. My older sister was nursed 2 weeks, I was nursed one
week and my younger sister not at all because, as my mother said, she was
bullied out of nursing. We were well off so we had the new, ready made
formula. My older sister is a type 1 diabetic, and I have lot's of auto-
immune 'fun' and sometimes I wonder...
In addition, my mother was always slim and both my grandmothers were slim
and my sisters and I always have to watch our weight.
Even thought I was a skinny baby and they did everything they could to
fatten me up. Hm...
My sisters and I nursed all of our babies; my mother would sometimes watch
us (my older sister and myself, she passed away before my younger sister had
children) and say, "Don't you let them stop you, you nurse that baby!" She
always felt something had been stolen frome her and she was thrilled that her
daughters had it.
