NRP is the abbreviation for Neonatal Resuscitation protocol. It is the
series of steps we go through when an infant is not breathing, etc. It is
kind of like
basic CPR for newborns.

Breastfeeding has absolutely NOTHING to do with NRP whatsoever. Someone is
confused.

Well I certainly am confused...if NRP has nothing to do with breastfeeding
then why is a formula company producing the CD and educational materials???
Looking at the Mead Johnson website I see that they only produce formula and
baby vitamins. Hmmm, nothing on their website that has anything to with
resuscitation or breathing. Perhaps they (MJ) thought that the NRP
materials would be a good way to market their formula to the RN's who must
take the course to keep working with newborns?

I don't know-I am just a newly certified IBCLC and not an RN...but I do know
that my personal code of ethics and my professional code of ethics certainly
would be hard pressed to accept training from a company that produces
formula, even if said training has nothing to do with breastfeeding.

Just my .02 cents this morning...
