It's late and my computer literate family is asleep. My 9 year old begs to
use AOL daily and I fear the next months Discover bill. Here I go alone and
hopefully this works.
I'm Sharon Lemon, RN, CLE living in West Chicago, IL. The hospital I
work at is using me as an LC and funding it purely by a grant. It has been
very successful and well received.
"Congratulations"!!! Elisa Hirsch for getting on......and you were looking to
me for help.
We have been doing home visits post-discharge for one year. The nurses that
are involved are not LC's but, have been positive forces in promoting
breastfeeding. They have been those interested parties that attend
breastfeeding talks I have presented. They also do not hesitate to call me
with any concerns.
:)I like to have moms count suckle bursts when beginning breastfeeding to
encourage them to watch baby and not the clock.....I still get comments..."So
should I put baby on each side for 10 min"?....I repeat my instructions and
later when I return they report sucks not minutes.
I did it!....Sharon Lemon
