Dear Friends
Judy wonders about the numbers of private pratice LCs in other cities.
In Philadelphia, one of the largest hospitals has been advertising for a
LC for at least a year. At least one other hospital is in desparate need of
LCs. Some home care agencies don't have LCs to send to see mothers, which is
particularly disturbing as there are 4 different insurances that will pay for
home visits. An out-patient center may have finally gained a LC to be on staff,
after seeking one for over a year.
There are very few LCs that will make home visits within the city; there
are more in the suburbs.
