I wonder whether they looked at exclusive breastfeeding or simply
'any' breastfeeding. I think it would make a difference in the
results. Breastfeeding rates among latina women in general are
pretty good, but the majority 'do both' -- breast and bottle -- from
very early on. I would guess that the exclusive breastfeeding rate
among the study participants was low.
Perhaps the study would be better titled, "Influence of partial
breastfeeding on obesity . . ." ?
Can someone with access to the full text tell us how the researchers
defined 'breastfeeding'?
