If every women who could breastfeed, did, there would be a lake of free
donor human milk for every mother who had problems.
Thus, formula marketeering _prevents_ donor human milk being available for
those few who have problems.
Formula marketeering kills many many more babies than are saved by formula
use that is appropriate. :-(
It's a two edged sword...both edges reduce human milk resources.

I think the hospitals need to stop giving out formula, I think women need to
be thoroughly informed about the risks of formula feeding and I think we
also need to recognize that some people need to give formula. If every
single mom I worked with that had insufficient milk supply wanted to use
donor milk, there would not be enough.
