Renee, several years ago(1996, 97 and 98, I think) the test was administered
to people retaking the exam. At that time, it was then announced, after
analysis, that recertifying by exam every 10 years would continue to be
required. I have several thoughts.
1. test results from the experimental LCs, recertifying at 10 years were not
impressive.
2. test results were OK, but the exam is a great money-maker :-( Yes, I'm
being cynical)
3. I personally feel that recert by cerps is adequate. Retaking a beginner
exam is non productive. Figuring out a graduated exam would be So
subjective.
Fortunately I'll be 75 the next time recert time rolls around and I plan to
sit that one out, I'll be lucky if I can remember my address by then :-)
