Personally, I think some of you are going way over the top with your 
reactions to all of this. While I am not minimizing the importance of the 
need to clarify and fix whatever the IBLCE was trying to do,I do think the 
level of over-reaction is mind boggling. 

Why not just go about your daily lactation lives and keep doing the good 
work that you've probably been doing all along?

By the way, nurse practitioners do NOT have to work under a physician as 
someone posted (clumping them with physician's assistants,etc). They have 
autonomy and prescriptive authority as well. 

I teach about medications all the time. This is in no way the same as 
prescribing a medication. When my OB colleagues call me and ask for "that 
thrush protocol" we use, I read it to them over the phone (or fax it). I'm 
not prescribing then, either.
