Lynette asked:
<<hypersensitive
nipples. Is this something a dermatologist can diagnose? >>
I have found that many (not all) women who have (a) tenderness of their
nipples during pregnancy, lovemaking, or their periods, (b) burn, don't tan and
(c) have very little, if any, melatonin laid down in the areola - ergo, very
little color change during pregnancy tend to have much more hypersensitivity
than other women, all other things being equal (baby latching well, etc etc
etc).
We've all laughed at the old wives tales about women with fair hair WILL
have sore nipples -- I have found that it isn't related to the color of the hair
or skin, but is related to the amount of color change during pregnancy --
and I can almost predict which women will have more painful nipples just based
on that.
