Hello, this is weird - I received a phone call on Friday, just before leaving work. A concerned relative of a new mother with a history of bulimea says that the mother's milk is the color of orange juice! Is there anything that can cause this, and has anyone ever seen this color of milk? I have seen green, gray, brown, yellow and pink, but never orange.
The relative wanted to know if malnutrition can cause the milk to change color. I have no idea.
Thanks!! P.S Thanks to everyone who responded to the MRSA problem - as it turned out, the neonatologist read some info from Ruth Lawrence and Nancy Wight, which I provided. She then called another infection control specialist who allowed the mother to go ahead and nurse her baby.
