Several respondents on the BMJ rapid response list to this article
have commented on the long time lapse since data collection, esp.
about BF status.
On reading the article it appears that the BF data refer to BF
practice among OFFSPRING of the young people who were being followed
prospectively from 1979 in the public health study. Thus we are not
considering the effects of things that happened in the 1960's, but
rather things that were happening in the 1980's and 1990's.
My criticism of the article remains unchanged. I just think it's a
good idea to read carefully so you know what you're criticizing.
