Is there anyone who has any experience with mothers using this drug while
breastfeeding? Hale calls it an L3 and it seems unlikely that it would
cause trouble since it has high molecular weight and is administered
subcutaneously because it is not absorbed from the GI tract, but in the case
in question here, concern is that a young baby might be able to absorb it
along with the immunoglobulins it binds to, if they are present in milk.

Here, mothers with the kind of illness etanercept is used for are not
usually breastfeeding because it is believed that breastfeeding itself
exacerbates the underlying condition. So we don't have much experience to
draw on. So, I'm interested in any reports from mothers actually using it
and breastfeeding.

Please reply to the list if you can.
