Reading this thread with great interest.  Just wanted
to mention something that I don't *think* has been
talked about yet...  the immence influence of partner
on bf'g mom... I think in some situations father views
baby as enemy to mother (several reasons  ranging from
someone whose making his partner cranky weepy and
tired to someone who's distracting mother from meeting
his needs?)  And sees formula as way of separating
this mother/baby unit of which he views himself not
included.  I believe classes geared SOLELY for
expectant fathers would have tremendous impact on
success rates.  Yes, its a mother's body and
ultimately a mother's decision but a partners
commitment to breastfeeding could definitely
positively influence mother's resolve to stick with it
in face of challenges.  I think many fathers find
themselves in the "no opinion" category but need to be
empowered as well with information.
