I saw a mother, one week postpartum, with three discreet pea sized lumps
in each axilla. They did not seem to project from the rest of the breast
like a Tail of Spence, nor did they feel like part of a single axillary
breast. Since it was bilateral, it's probably normal for this woman. She
is producing milk from both breasts, though her milk supply is reduced
due to poor stimulation. I asked her if they seem to change in size, and
she thought that they were a bit smaller than before.
Any thoughts?
