I had a "never assume" moment yesterday. I was asked to do a home visit
with a mom because her baby wasn't latching. As I'm taking further history,
it turns out she has PCOS, hypothroid, PIH, infertifility issues. I'm
thinking "uh oh." Baby eventually latches but takes in only 6cc. So, we
talk about pumping, feeding the baby, etc. Then she says, "Is it okay if I
stop pumping at 10 minutes instead of 15? After ten minutes, both the
bottles are full. I have to stop and pour some out before I can keep
pumping the full 15 minutes." Apparently supply is not much of an issue, at
least not at this point. ;-)
