"Old" LC (LLLL, etc.) don't retire. They just go off to nursing homes...
Sorry. Couldn't resist. (Heard it long ago and have just waited for the opportunity to use it!)
Personally, I've felt reenergized in recent years. Sure, there's still a long way to go (and I think that part of the path we've chosen has no end), and there are new or different challenges, barriers, etc. But there's also a lot of good and some really nifty young mothers. More and more with special situations provide their milk for their babies and for longer times.
Hang in everyone. We can't help everyone, we may not be able to reverse the epidural tidal wave and so on, but those we do help -- in whatever way -- are soo d_mn appreciative and worthy of all our efforts! If we're not available, where will many of them go for info, help, etc.?
Karen
