I had thought I would take the exam in 2007. I am beginning to feel a
little restricted in my role as a peer counsellor. According to the new
Scope, gaining the IBCLC credential is not going to allow me to do anything
I can't do now. I think my $1000 (exam fee + 48hrs ed) would be better
spent elsewhere.
Incidentally, since LCs can't do anything I can't do and medicos get no
preservice ed on lactation (and only inservice is provided by formula
industry) who do I refer mothers to for diagnosis, treatment and minor
surgeries???
