hi all,
i wanted to update you on my daughters progress with her baby. the baby is
now 8 weeks old and finally the nursing is going well. baby has a receding
chin, and a tongue that stays on the roof of his mouth, so latch has been a
problem.

he was born in august, in nyc, when just about all the lc's were on
vacation. she did find a pediatrician, who is also an IBCLC, makes home visits and
accepts insurance! my daughter had thrush, & a bacterial infection. treated
both mom/baby and both are now doing great.

my daughter is involved with a playgroup, with about 6-8 moms/babies. ages
range from 4 weeks to 3 months, all are nursing except for one mom/baby. i
thought that was great!

i am so relieved she got thru such a difficult time with the nursing, it was
so painful for her, she persisted, stuck with it, and is now starting to
enjoy it. this was not an easy pregnancy, the birth was not easy, he was 10 days
late, she was induced,
his head was transverse, he never dropped, he was 9 pounds, she had a
cesarean delivery.

i am grateful things are improving, and i am loving being a grandma.
roni
