I have seen dried milk under the diaphragm and if women tell me they want to
use a used pump, I take that part off for them and clean it with alcohol. I
just don't know if milk can get to the second user via anyplace on the pump.
As you say we're assuming she is using a new kit. But since Medela says it
is intended for one person use, I definitely would not try to sell one to
someone. And I would also not even rent one. But I wonder if I can honestly
tell a mother that her used pump is definitely safe.
