I ask them to look at the pacifier and to tell me where the baby's gums 
will be. Yup, on the flat, skinny part of the paci. Then I ask mom if 
she wants baby on her breast after he gets used to biting the flat pacifier?
I sometimes use a pacifier to do suck games, if the parents are already 
using one. It's getting almost impossible to find a cylindrical pacifier 
nipple to do this with.
