Forgive me if I have posted this before it has been a busy week - maybe I
dreamt it! I just previewed Breast is best a 35 minute video made by Gro
Nylander from Norway, it is excellent, sells for $50 in Canada through
INFACT but I am sure ILCA would know where it is available in the US. The
professionals speak English and it has some wonderfully positive messages,
breastfeeding into toddlerhood, breastfeeding a tiny prem, twins, electric
and manual pumping dealing with engorgement and other breastfeeding
problems, Dad's play a big role. In the hospitals guess where baby sleeps
right in bed with Mom no cots.

I just finished another marathon at three community hospitals with my
students and one of my students an NICU nurse worked with a fresh postpartum
mother a young girl, the baby had meconium aspiration and the nursery had
some concern about letting this baby out. My student left the baby tucked
up in bed with mom, bedside rails up Mom very happy. She remebered the
lectture about infant breathing being regulated when sleeping with mom etc.
Well we were stiffly told that babies in this hospital only slept in their
cots. Boy do I have a video for them!
