I am thinking that since the baby presented with a serious illness at 2 wks
of age, that he was actually sick prior to that. I am thinking maybe mother
is comparing his behavior now (wellness) to his behavior then (sickness).
And that his fast feeds now and sleepiness after are normal. I would
recommend weighing the baby (not pre/post), just maybe a week after hospital
discharge and maybe again in 2 wks if that one is ok, but mom is still
worried. She can watch the wet, dirty diapers, and how her breasts soften
with feeds. Mom surely was traumatized by baby's illness and the scary
medical procedures, and needs reassurance and support. A League group would
be great for her.
