The thin plastic film is called Tegaderm or commonly known as "op-site".
Not only is the Tegaderm expensive, but in my experience has caused
irritation to the skin. Also when wet for periods of time, it does peel
off. I personally prefer to use Medipore tape.(no vested interest in the
product) It is a soft cloth surgical tape that does not cause irritation.
It also sticks well and is perforated to 2 inch segments so it is easily to
dispensed. Parents can also purchase the product in most drugstores or
medical supply stores.
