I'm sure there will be archived replies to the question, but...
I too would only suggest nipple shields when really indicated, but they are
a godsend for some women/babies. Short nipples where the baby just can't
latch. They can be a great tool used,used, liked anything, with time, care
and discretion.
I have worked with many women who have used shields successfully for months.
If mum and baby are happy, weight gain good, then.... if it ain't broke, don
t fix it.
I usually find after a few weeks/months the mum forgets it one day and the
baby latches anyway!
