Thank you, Rebecca, for sharing this information about proposed WIC changes for US women. This presents a wonderful opportunity to do what we do so well...share reseach findings, past history, present conditions, future health goals, etc. with people who hold power and can initiate change. I hope that a letter writing compaign...even meetings with USDA (UD Department of Agriculture) officials, will bring this much needed revision into being. (For those outside the US, the USDA is a part of the US Gov't that supervises nutrition programs, among other things).
These changes were suggested by the Institute of Medicine...and comes before the USDA as a matter of public health...not a political "hot potato" as, say, the Ad Campaign. This is real...and if the change occurs, it is what we have been waiting for. Pens ready! Anne Andrianos, Syracuse, NYUSA
