Dear friends,
I was told that (some of) the test-testers were cheating and did study after all, making the test unreliable.
IBLCE could as well have listened to conversations between numerous recertifying LCs, explaining they had to resit, but didn't have the time and/or resources to study, but passed anyway. I'm one of those and I have spoken to several others.
Warmly greeting,
Gonneke, IBCLC, LLLL in southern Netherlands where seasons seem to be quitting winter this year, jumping from autumn to spring.

The offer was that they NOT study for the exam; just go on past experience & accumulated knowledge from an active practice. They were promised to keep their credential as part of the experiment regardless of their actual grade. At least two people in our affiliate participated.
We have no idea of actual scores. It would be interesting how this experimental group compared to the "studying" group as a whole.
Was that ever published?
Phyllis
