Several have posted that they are seeing more infants with tongue ties and wondering what is causing this increase.  I can't helpbut wonder if this is an actual increase in the occurance or just that more moms are seeking our help when they can't cope with soreness and/or milk transfer problems by the more commonly known interventions.,  Is it possible that previously these moms either gave up or supplemented?  With increasing promotion of breastfeeding and increasing awareness of LCs and what we do, could it be that these moms are looking further for answers rather than giving up or supplementing.?  Of course there may be some physical reason that is causing more tongue ties, but I'm sure it would be a challenge to tease out exact statistics due to the above questions.
