Karleen, I am pretty sure Rebecca Gover makes some mention of that on
her "Follow me Mum" video.

I have a little story here that may be of interest. I recently bought
some soft dolls from a department store to demonstrate positioning and
latching at study days. These dolls were in their packages in the back
of a car. I was making a longish trip and had 2 children (boys) in the
back of the car getting bored. they wanted to take the dolls out for
something to do. In no time at all I heard all these giggles and looked
around the see these 2 boys "breastfeeding" these dolls with perfect
positioning! It was so instinctive for them.

I compare that to a woman who has had 2 or 3 decades of magazines, TV,
shopping malls and living rooms which all show images of babies being
bottle fed. No wonder they try and breastfeed their babies in a bottle
feeding positioning.

If you don't see it, you don't know it.

I was wondering if any of you are aware of anywhere (books, papers etc)
where it describes/states that mothers sometimes have difficulty with
breastfeeding because they have only ever seen/used bottles to feed
babies before or where it talks about women trying to breastfeed like
they would bottlefeed (eg try to put the breast in the baby's mouth
rather than bring the baby to the breast or hold the baby face up rather
than turned towards her).
I'd appreciate any help you can give me!
