I googled about rashes and of course there are many causes like parvovirus
(fifth's disease), and contact dermatitis, and more below:

from healthforums.com
" Causes
Contact dermatitis. You may have been in contact with an allergen or
irritant, such as jewelry, detergent, perfume, cosmetics or poison ivy. Now
you have an itchy rash. Scratching may leave narrow, raised red lines. Once
the allergen or irritant is removed, the symptoms should fade.

Eczema. You may have itchy skin with redness or bumps. You may notice skin
thickening, scaling or color changes. You also may have asthma or allergies
such as hay fever. Eczema refers to conditions that cause skin inflammation.
Eczema on the hands is often related to excessive hand washing. Nummular
eczema refers to round patches of irritated skin. See your doctor or
dermatologist if you have chronic eczema.

Pityriasis rosea. You may have one oval, itchy, scaly patch on your chest or
back. You also may have similar, smaller patches on your upper arms, trunk
or thighs. This may last up to three months and then disappear without
treatment. Your doctor may prescribe medication to relieve the itch.

Other causes may include fifth disease, fungal infections or heat rash. "

Dermatologists are usually pretty good w/ rashes.
