This came up at a class this week.
The sister in law of a class member did not breastfeed after about
day 7 because her milk showed no sign of coming in. This was a cause
of some distress. The woman had already been diagnosed with a
(benign) pituitary tumour.
The only thing I have been able to find out about this is that a
pituitary tumour can be associated with the production of milk when
the woman is not even pregnant.
Is it possible this mother's tumour caused no milk....or is it a
case of either not noticing the milk coming in, or a delay in the
milk coming in?
